With a booked calendar full of 4th July events!Do you have a rain plan?It may seem easy to overlook a rain plan, but if you're planning an outdoor event you should have a backup plan in place. Sure, odds may not be high that it'll rain, but do you really want to bet on those odds? We strongly encourage having a rain plan in place. Being over-prepared is usually preferable to being under-prepared, especially when it comes to a rain plan. Mud!The number one thing you may overlook when deciding whether or not to have a rain plan is mud. If your event is outdoors, it's guaranteed to get muddy and slippery after a good rain comes through, even if it rained the day before your event! Did the mud dry up?! Consider the ground and flooring first and foremost when planning an outdoor event. Relocate Indoors. When creating the guest list, for instance, consider how many guest you can reasonably entertain indoors, which may be less than the amount you could spread throughout the backyard/outdoor venue. When you gather the supplies for your outdoor event, consider decorations that can be easily relocated, or pick up a few extras to keep on hand in case you have to transform an indoor space on short notice. Rain Gear.Tell your guest to dress in rain gear the event is still on! It won’t hurt your guests to get a little wet. Make the best of the wet weather by rain dancing, umbrella twirling, and puddle jumping. Tell your guest lets dance in the Rain! Maybe the day isn’t expected to be a total washout. When the forecast predicts scattered showers all day you can still salvage your event plans—with a little help from some outdoor shelter, ask your guest and family if they have some tents or beach umbrella they can lend you. This way your guest will have a place to gather when it starts to rain! The garage is another space that comes in handy for a rainy day event. Move the car out, clear some space and set an area to relocate in case of rain. Have a rain date planed ahead of time...If your event truly relies on its outdoor setting and a sunny day, you may have no choice but to reschedule. Choose a rain date and add it to the invitation. With any luck, you won’t have to use it, but guests should know ahead of time what to do in the event of rain. A rain date also lets guests know to keep the secondary date free, as well.
If you can't stop Mother Nature and she gives you rain, embrace it instead. Baby Face with a Mask on for a Baby Shower during the COVID-19 Pandemic.MOST ALL events have been canceled due to the coronavirus! My event calendar is EMPTY... However I am receiving calls for “Maternity Belly Art Painting Appointments”! The first call I received was from a pregnant mom that asked can you paint a baby face with a mask on the face? I laughed and said, But of course we can. I started searching google for some ideas and I came up with a few ideas. What I normally do is start a Pinterest board so that the client and I can collaborate on a design together. I sent a message to Varela (my client) saying... If you want, we can have some real fun with this design! If you want this design to be funny and fun, I was thinking we can use googly eyes and some false eyelashes. How about we add a baby bow to the design and maybe even a real mask instead of a painted on one. What do you think? Varela said SURE! Varela had me come over to her house before her baby shower in order to paint this design so that during her baby shower her “Masked Baby Maternity Belly Art” would be on display for all to laugh and have fun with this design. I used her bellybutton as the nose for the baby. Do you know how some people wear the mask with their nose out?! The proper way of wearing a mask this baby is not following because the nose is hanging out! 😂😷 Rainbow Baby Maternity Belly Art."Rainbow baby maternity belly art" has a powerful meaning behind it. Rainbow baby is the term used to describe a pregnancy following a series of miscarriages or still-births. The name “rainbow baby” comes from the idea of a rainbow appearing in the sky after a storm, or after a dark and turbulent time. My client Melissa Crowley from CEO-Homemade and Blessed. Knew she wanted to celebrate her pregnancy in a memorable way. Melissa would like to share this quote for this blog post: " I am so glad I got my belly painted by Linda for my maternity photo shoot. It was something a little extra special in a time of such craziness in the world. (This appointment took place during the coronavirus disease (covid-19) pandemic of 2020) I was able to connect with Linda and have something lovely to look back on about a pregnancy that was very dear to us as it was our first after 4 losses." Do all appointments go perfect and smooth you ask? Most times yes however on this appointment oh my goodness NO! I was having a VERY clumsy day😂Melissa told me to blame it on the Mars retrograde… The end result of the design did however come out amazing! After the appointment I sent a message to Melissa apologizing to her again for my clumsiness. Oh, my goodness what was my problem?! I can be clumsy at times BUT not that clumsy?! Let me take this time to be transparent with you, my blog readers. And walk you through this clumsy day appointment. To achieve this design I used an airbrush setup. While I was setting up my airbrushes the airbrush stand did not fit correctly to my table. Just as I thought to myself, I think I really should add a plastic tablecloth to the cream colored rug below. Just as that thought went through my brain my airbrush stand fell crashing to the floor! A teardrop of the color pink, blue and yellow hit the cream colored rug! OH NO this airbrush stand WILL NOT WORK?! BUT have no fear I can be a bit of a "MacGyver" at times! I just used the container that was holding my paint colors as an airbrush stand. ("MacGyver" is to make or repair something "in an improvised or inventive way, making use of whatever items are at hand") My next clumsiness mishaps was as I was attaching an airbrush to the quick disconnect some of my black paint came spilling out! Paper towels to the rescue! You my blog readers might ask was that it of the clumsiness mishaps? oh my gosh NO! The paint brush that I was using to write the baby's name ( Bella Luna) came apart and fell into the bottle of paint! That was the only paintbrush I packed because the rest of the design was going to be done with the airbrushes! The “crimp” is the part that fell into the bottle of paint. (“Crimp” is the part of the ferrule that secures it to the handle.) The face paint makeup I was using is a waterproof paint therefore I was using 80% alcohol to rinse my paint brush and I think that made the glue that holds the crimp to the paintbrush handle come apart. I had only 2 letters left to write when this happened. My "MacGyver quick thinking mind" kicked in or I call it my "artist brain" always improvising❤️‼️ I used the rounded end of the bottom part of the paintbrush to finish the last 2 letters. HA close one! No one was hurt in the making of this design. Yes I was able to wipe out the rainbow colors that spilled on the cream colored rug. The black paint that spilled? Spilled luckily in my paint container holder. And the crimp part of the paintbrush I was able to get out of the paint bottle when I got home from the appointment with long nose pliers. To achieve this design I used an airbrush and a fairy stencil. We also added some glitter bling flower stickers and some 3D butterflies. My client Melissa Endured 4 losses and many many months of heart break before this miracle happened. A rainbow baby is a baby born shortly after the loss of a previous baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth or death in infancy. This term is given to these special rainbow babies because a rainbow typically follows a storm, giving us hope of what's to come. This is a memorable way to capture this special moment and also create unique family portraits in the future.Getting your belly painted and photographed is a unique and fun way to celebrate pregnancy. What a FUN baby shower gift or activity at your baby shower. I was given permission to share some of the pictures taken at Melissa maternity photo shoot. Contact Rhianna Clark Photography if you would like to book a maternity photo shoot in Levittown, PA 19056. Maternity Body/Belly Art Appointments can be a fun, creative activity that’s safe and easy endless possibilities on a design. Always remember the beautiful shape of your body when your baby was still growing in your belly with a maternity photo shoot. “Maternity Body/Belly Art Appointments” Long lost friends when life happens.I had a friend named Bridget that when we were kids around 17/18 she had 2 baby girls. Both of us always had one of those baby’s on our hips! We did everything together! Well then LIFE happened and Bridget and I lost contact with each other for some 20+ years! I often wonder about Bridget. How is she doing? What is her life like now? Does she have any more kids? Well one day 20 + years later I receive a call from Bridget! Her youngest daughter Isabel asked her mom Bridget if you had one friend you could talk to who would it be? Bridget said I wonder whatever happened to Linda? Technology today all you have to do is a google search. Isabel did a google search "Linda Krause" and found me and my Wild Flower Artist Face and Body Art business! She went under the about artist page of my website and showed my picture to her mom Bridget and said is this her? Bridget said OMG YES! My phone number is on my website and Bridget gave me a call! Well Jessica and Isabel are all grown up and they are now having babies. I painted Isabel's belly when she was pregnant 5 years ago and just this month I painted Jessica's pregnant belly! Isabel's Maternity Belly Art Designs. When Isabel was pregnant in year 2015 I painted her belly on two different occasions. The first time I painted her belly with a "sports theme" design. Complete with baseball glove, a baseball, a flaming football and an announcement "Aaron Coming soon"! For this design I used an airbrush and sport themed stencils. The second time I painted a "Minion Maternity Belly Art Design". This design was done with traditional brush face paint applied by hand with brushes, sponges and FDA approved makeup designed specifically for use on human skin. Jessica's Maternity Belly/Body Art Designs.I asked Jessica what she would like in her design. She said she would like a baby elephant and she also likes sunflowers. I started searching the web and I found this baby elephant with the mommy elephant trunk holding the baby. I got the idea that I would use Jessica arm as the mommy trunk. I also added a little pink crown gem to the baby elephants head. Then I saw this design from Jamie a face and body artist from Jamie's paint boxes she is an artist out in Durham, NC. I liked the way she painted the sunflowers on the breasts. I did the same with Jessica design but instead of painting a butterfly... I had these really cool 3D butterflies I found at the dollar store and I used them! Jessica's Baby Elephant & Sunflower Maternity Belly/Body Art Designs. In these pictures Bridget and I were trying to pose like our back in the day poses! HAHA HEEHEEIreena's Maternity Belly Art Designs. I know that I wanted something that would reflect being pregnant, and my baby being born during the pandemic. Before speaking with Linda I thought that my idea may be laugh upon, but she instantly assured me that that was a great idea. She worked with me, and we came up with the final piece of art. She gave me information on the products she was using. I was very comfortable during the process. She is very kind, and professional. I would absolutely recommend her to friends and family. It was a pleasure working with her on this masterpiece. Meet Ireena's Baby girl. No, really I’m really feeling the loss and the lack of connections I had with you. There is nothing that can ever replace the happy smiling faces I receive after decorating my clients with body art. I love the way it makes both me and the recipient smile. This picture was taken at a 4th July parade in Gibbstown NJ. The year was 2018. Patriotic Face Painting South Jersey.Last week I went on a camping vacation. Normally on 4th July weekend, I am booked solid with patriotic face painting and tattoos. However, with the Coronavirus patriotic body art was canceled. For Body art Services we follow the guidelines that the CDC has enforced for nail salons and hairdressers. With that said technically I am able to be open for business however no calls are coming in. The guidelines I am following for Face Painting and Henna Tattoo. Happiness comes when we stop complaining about the troubles we have. This past 4th July weekend my family and I went camping. While my son was swimming in the lake I decided to decorate myself... As a creative colorful outlet. With this Coronavirus/ Covid-19 Pandemic. I haven't felt inspired to do art at all in a while. My first art project was tie-dying my finger nails and toe nails.I then decorated myself with a Henna Tattoo.![]() I defrosted some henna paste. I decorated my left hand with 2 henna designs all while sitting on the beach watching my son play in the lake. Check out this cool imperial moth I found while camping!Be your own color, no matter what the rest of the world looks like.![]() I have also decided to add some colors to my hair... I had to do the pink and purple over again. Because I am putting the dye over my natural strawberry blonde, graying hair. Once I get a good picture of how it turned out I will update this blog post... Until then keeping your mind, body and spirit healthy is particularly important right now xoxo. Sometimes all you need is a little splash of color.Post-Coronavirus Face Painting Guidelines. Signs will be posted asking customers to follow guidelines at the body art workspace.
All clients/children and Artists need to follow these guidelines. In WFA’s face and body art headquarters after each job, I wash my equipment thoroughly. My face painting sponges are washed on high heat in the washing machine and then dried thoroughly. All of my paintbrushes are soaked and cleaned. Insuring my kit is ready for the next event. I tend to be an over-packer with sanitizing products but now with this virus, I believe that full transparency is far more comforting to my clients. I think after this post it will relax you and make you happy. A complaint I sometimes get. This face painting line is taking too long!? 1. I have rinse water that I refresh regularly. 2. I rinse out each of my paintbrushes after each child. 3. I wipe down my face painting kit with disinfectant. 4. I use only professional-grade face paint/makeup that has been manufactured to be antimicrobial. 5. I’m sorry It’s our company policy that we have to take regularly scheduled sanitation breaks. I just need to give things a quick spritz of disinfectant. 6. I spray "brush bath" (a water sanitizer) on all of my paints, brushes, and I add a "brush bath" to my rinse water I also spray it on my sponges as an extra precaution. Yes, this causes me an extra step and slows me down BUT it provides a healthy working environment for both our clients and myself. Because I want for you to rest knowing that my kits have been cleaned and sterilized. I want everyone to be safe. I don’t want to be carrying germs and spreading germs. Being sanitary in my line of work is SO IMPORTANT! On a regular basis, I will not paint anyone that appears sick. When I refuse to paint your child please do not get mad at me this is why. It’s against my company policy for your safety as well as mine. I am taking lots of precautions to be really sanitary. I always carry a few stickers and temporary tattoos with me to offer to the child (My over-packed kits ;-}) The CDC provides guidelines and recommendations for reopening during Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Wild Flower Artist Face and Body Art is developing guidelines and procedures that we will enforce for when we reopen. The close personal contact required to decorate my customers with temporary body art makes it especially challenging yet critically important to accommodate the necessarily social distancing and sanitation at this time. Post-Coronavirus Henna Tattoo/Body Art Guidelines. Signs will be posted asking customers to follow guidelines at the body art workspace.
As an event entertainment company, I will be "thinking through every touch-point" that needs to be sanitized after each customer as I plan for the reopening of my body art company. I want my customers and artist to feel "safe and comfortable" with extra precautions in place. Keeping my artist and customers safe is my number-one priority for my businesses. All customers and Artists need to follow these guidelines. If you want the rainbow you have to put up with some rain.No Gigs, Quarantine, and Social Distancing in a Pandemic. Today it is raining so I decided to try and paint a colorful rainbow swirl tie-dye on my house window. I went in my garage/studio looking for craft paint. I came across this artist palette with water base paint its not the best paint but it did the job. It’s no secret that I LOVE rainbows and color! “When we are able to gather again let’s celebrate with color”!Stayed tuned I am thinking of painting some sunflowers on the other window… #Inspiration #Encouragement #COVID-19 #Coronavirus #Socialdistancing #Stillgrateful #Rainydayart #Rainbowsandcolor #WFAfaceandbodyart
Less gigs and more time in my WFA Face & Body Art office means... I’ve had a chance to catch up on blog post! Did I tell you I submitted an article for a face painting magazine?!?!?
Oh my goodness! OH MY GOODNESS check it out I am beyond excited! Don't you ever let your STINKIN THINKIN STOP YOU! What am I good at you ask? I LOVE TO GIVE OLD ITEMS A NEW PURPOSE! Creative recycling body art kits! I wanted to write this article for some time now and I kept putting it off... A part of me thought people will think it is silly or stupid. Then I decided what the heck Linda send it in, see what Gretchen Fleener says... AND LOOK SEE LOVED THE ARTICLE! I CANNOT WAIT TO GET THIS ISSUE! This summer issue is full of ideas to save money and make your tools & supplies last!
Some of my neighbors that do not know me think I am going Coronavirus Crazy. But for those that know me, NO it’s just Linda being silly…
I have been working on a new craft project with my family to help us combat our isolation. I have chickens and I have lots of eggs. I have decided to share eggs with my neighbors and community. I decorate the egg cartoons with encouraging quotes I have also asked a few neighbors if they would like to help decorate egg cartoons. But I did not stop there to make this even more fun and silly...
I dress in a chicken t-shirt or chicken pajamas. Then I remembered my neighbor across the street has a blow up chicken costume!!! Of course I asked to borrow it!
Egg delivery!!
While the chicken dance song is playing we deliver the eggs! Would that bring a smile to your face? Eggs this is something I am able to share in this uncertain time. My son and I have been deliver fresh eggs to the neighborhood. No worries yes we maintain social distancing and our faces are covered. In this crisis I am able to share eggs to help my community. Stay happy, healthy, safe and positive.
The last time I went to the store they were out of eggs!![]() Today I was supposed to be face painting at an Easter Egg Hunt. And the weather today is beautiful here in South Jersey. But all the events on my calendar have been canceled until further notice… I miss the connection both physical and emotional with my clients and the public! Our main focus is keeping our hands clean don’t touch your face don’t touch anything! But I am a face and body artist, I work with hands and faces I use to spend my weekends painting children’s faces giving big hugs after they see their face in the mirror. The connection holding children’s faces, holding hands as I decorate hands with henna. I miss the connection! I did not realize how much I use my hands at the food store I cannot hand the checkout divider to the next customer in line. I made some space for the customer behind me and I was about to take her oranges and lay them on the conveyor belt where I pushed my groceries over to make room for hers. However I stopped myself because that would mean I would touch her oranges. ![]() We use our hands to hug one another, we kiss sides of the face to say hello. I often give children a high five if they were able to stay still while I painted their face. I use my hands to create art on the body and face. With all this talk of the coronavirus there’s been a lot of emphasis placed on social distancing canceling everything staying home and not connecting with one another. And for many of us this makes us sad, anxious, confused, lonely isolated. As an artist I have a unique capability to help. The nature of what I do for a living is bring joy, celebration, smiles to your face. Instill hope and inspires connection and even though we have to keep our distance from one another. ![]() I started working on a craft project with my family to help us combat our isolation. Wild Flower Artist Face and Body Art hear your concerns about the recent Coronavirus activity.3/12/2020
I would like to comfort you by educating you about myself and the other artist’s within my company. With the updated standard sanitation practices we are currently enforcing. To make our cleaning and hygiene protocols event more rigorous. In order to keep our clients safe and calm. We want for you our clients to rest assure I am constantly researching on hygiene how to keep my kits as germ free as possible! This is pretty much my normal routine for each event. But now with this Coronavirus I am enforcing extra hand washing, cleaning our stencils after each person and changing our rubber gloves after each person, we have increased each kit to have extra antibacterial hand sanitizers, and we already refresh our water regularly. I want to reassure my clients and all your guests that I am truly doing all I can. As it has always been the safety and security of our clients. WFA Face and Body Art take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. This is my normal procedure after each event; I am just publicly posting this to my blog because of the Coronavirus strain known as COVID-19 virus prevention. I just want you my client to be confident about how clean my kits are, and how sanitary my business practice is. I just thought I would take this time to educate my clients on what products I use in my business to keep you safe and your loved ones safe. This is why I call myself a professional face and body artist because this is my profession. I’ve always followed strict hygiene standards. I also post on my menu board and all around me kits, that I will not paint on anyone that appears sick. This is why it is so important to hire a professional face and body artist over a hobbyist artist. I am constantly learning and growing. As a client/parent you are not aware of the face and body art industry and why would you? Take a look around my website this is why I have so much information on my website because I like for my website to be as informative as possible to my clients. Thank you for reading and have a colorful day! This blog post has been published by Linda Krause-Maldonado. I am a professional face painter, henna artist and airbrush tattoo artist.
