Q: How to get the deepest, darkest Henna stain?
A: Henna paste is a dye and the longer it is left on the skin; the more layers of skin become stained by it.
1) Steaming is a way to help develop your Henna stain. This can be done by boiling water & holding your Henna in the steam for a few minutes. Repeat this process every hour. This will help keep your Henna moist, prevent it from cracking, as well as helping to release dye by providing heat.
2) I recommend leaving the Henna paste on overnight, if possible. When the Henna paste is almost completely dry, the easiest way to protect your Henna paste is to spray a layer of hair spray on top of it. Then apply medical adhesive tape to Henna paste, after you have taped Henna paste wrap plastic wrap around Henna paste. Henna needs to be absorbed into the layers of skin, and if you remove your Henna paste too early, wash hennaed area or enter chlorine, it can drastically affect your Henna stain.
3) When you are ready to remove your Henna paste you can flake it off using your finger nails or use a butter knife. DO NOT run water over the dry Henna paste that will affect the stain. If you cannot do any of the recommendation above just let the dried paste fall off on its own. It cracks, flakes and falls off leaving your Henna tattoo on your skin. However, the earlier you take the paste off the lighter your Henna tattoo will be. We recommend that you leave the Henna paste on for as long as you can in order to get a dark and long lasting Henna tattoo.

We do not use colors because the only way to obtain them is by adding chemicals that dye the Henna. We do not recommend colored Henna.
